2025 clinics/auditions/summer camps
Clinic and auditions for the 2025-2026 Grissom Band Color Guard will be May 12-15 / 4-6pm in the Grissom High School Band Room. Please wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. You will learn the basics of color guard which entail: dance movement, flag handling, and basic marching techniques. Auditions will be on May 16. You must attend all four days in order to be considered for the color guard.
New member and parent meeting on May 19 at 7pm in the band room.
All candidates will have to return a signed parent permission form along with a grade sheet signed by your teachers in order to audition. You may download these forms here.

Guard rehearsals are a vital part of the Grissom Band experience. Attendance at ALL rehearsals is mandatory. If your summer vacation conflicts with these dates, please let the band directors know immediately via phone or email.
Those that miss rehearsals are subject to being alternates during the performance season (football season).
The two summer camps are: June 2-6 & June 23-27 (M-F 8am-4pm with a lunch break)
There will also be 2 announced morning summer practices during June and July (Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur) from 6-8AM. TBD
Pre-Camp is July 21-25 (8am-12pm/1:30-4pm and 6-9pm).
Band Camp is July 28-August 1 (8am-12pm/1:30-4pm and 6-9pm). Color Guard may come in from 6-10am each day.
Preview Show for all members August 1 from 6:00--7:00pm at the Band Practice Field.
Once school starts Guard rehearsals are Monday 6:00-9:00pm, Tuesday 6:00-8:30pm and Thursday 6:00-8:30pm. There is a 45min practice immediately after school on days when we have a HOME football game. All members of the GHS Band including Color Guard are required to attend all scheduled marching band rehearsals and events. These include football games, marching contests, parades and any other activities that are scheduled for marching band.
